Relision

1. How is your daily life affected by Buddhism? What do you do and why do you do it?

I didn't think up anything when I see this question first before the lecture about Buddhism. And, I asked myself if I really belong to Buddhism, lol. hmm....Daily life? As a Buddhist? But, after the lecture, I realized I am really in Buddhism. Actually, I have believed problems that I face in my life make me stronger, so do never avoid them and try to face them. The idea is totally from Buddhism!!! I didn't know that!!! That's amazing.




2. The next class will be about Islam. Check the newspapers for the next 2 weeks and find articles about Islam. How are they talked about? Do you feel negative or positive about Islam because of these articles?

~More Than Twenty People Were Killed by Terrorism in Iraq~

On April 30th, a suicide bombing attacked people in a funeral of Shiah, one of the Islamic group, to the north of Baghdad. According to the police, more than twenty people died, and thirty-five got injured by the terrorism. It probable that Sunni, another Islamic group, did it. (Chugokushinbun, p.p 3, May １st)


I often find articles like above. Not only newspapers but news on TV tell us that terrorism occured by Islam in Iraq almost every day. I know it's true, but when people including me know these kind of news, they probably think Islam is bad relision and scary. However, I made some friends who believe in Islam when I was in U.S. They are so kind and fun. Totally different from the images that I got from TV and newspapers. So, now I know I had wrong idea about Islam, but I don't still exactly know anything about Islam. It's a great oppotunity that we learn Islam in class.
